Ridin' Thru (1934)
Tom Saunders is hired by Dad Burns (Lafe McKee) to discover who is stealing his mares. Because Burns is broke, he had to temporarily transform his ranch into a dude ranch in order to make ends meet. Tom and his partner Barney (Ben Corbett) get to work in tracking down the horse thieves, but Tom falls in love with Dolores (Ruth Hiatt). This complicates things as Dolores does not really care for Tom, considering him big and clumsy, berating him every chance she gets.
Similar to “Coyote Trails”, a beautiful pure white stallion is seen luring the mares away but the truth is the real thief has two legs – and is an employee of the rancher. At one point, Tom is accused of being the horse thief and is captured and tied up to his partner. Tom's horse Blackie is called over, and Blackie chews through the rope thus setting Tom free.
